New Tag to Benefit Firefighter Charities
Jacksonville Firefighters are teaming up with other firefighters
from all over Florida to promote the new “Florida Salutes Firefighters” specialty
tag.
The idea for the specialty tag was the idea of Palm Beach County Fire Rescue's
Lt. Armand Nault. Shortly after the September 11 terrorist act, Nault came
up with the idea that would give the public an opportunity to show support
for their firefighters and at the same time raise money for local firefighter-endorsed
charities.
The money raised from the sale of each plate will be collected by the Florida
Firefighter Charities and will be distributed back to local charities chosen
by the firefighters in the counties where the tags were sold.
These specialty tags are open to the public and can be purchased at your local
Tax Collector’s office. The specialty tags can be personalized to your
liking, however there is a five letter maximum.
